Waiting For the Second Shoe To Drop
By Jenni Vinson Trejo
August 11, 2006

Terror is the manipulation of evil. How can we not call it evil when terrorism calls on a human to kill other humans for a political cause. A terrorist stands before us, shoots off our leg and then demands that we listen and help him in his need. We’re injured and have a need to flee and fight to live. The last thing we want is to help this idiot who wasn’t able to state his needs more diplomatically.

That is the natural response to terrorism and since we behave naturally, the terrorist resents us and comes back to shoot the other leg in hopes that this time we will stand (now we can’t stand. We’ve lost both legs to this madness) and listen to him and fulfill his needs.

The first time you get attacked, the ordeal is surreal because it was unexpected and you really don’t know how to act and you just want to survive it. The second time an attack comes, you know exactly what is happening and what is going to happen and you know that all of you may not survive this. You lost a part of yourself the first time and it never quite settled back in place. A part of you didn’t heal.

That is the nature of terror. A terrorist knows that all they have to do is harm us once and we will anticipate the next attack with a foreboding sense of anxiety. The whole idea of terrorizing is meant to intensify those negative fearful emotions over the course of time. Eventually, the terrorist hopes to wear us down and have us acquiesce to their demands.

In the case of Al Queda, their demand is simple. They want us to die, to cease to exist. They call us the Great Satan and they fight to defeat and destroy us.

Yesterday was one of those days that flooded us, in the UK and in America, with that gnawing anxiety that the second shoe was about to drop and another attack might be about to happen. In America, it was a day of remembering 9-11 the towers falling and the people who died and those we saw survive as they walked away like ghosts emerging from the clouds of debris. In the UK, it was a time of remembering 7-11 and those who died in the subways and of those who miraculously lived to give an account of the horrors they witnessed.

That was yesterday. Today let us remember that we are a strong people. Let us determine not to bow to the abhorrent behavior of an enemy whose face we have seen. It’s hard to fear those who hide in caves and sent out their young to die in their place. We pray that our friends in the UK will resolve as we do, to survive and to live and to live well.

It isn’t foolish or haughty or prideful. It’s defiance that makes Americans stand against these terror-wielding foes. We are winning the war against them. The best of them has been killed or captured. They are running their show with the minions now.

Our best is in our heart and our hope and it is instilled in each and every one of us. We hold this to be true: that we are endowed by our Creator with inalienable rights to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. You see there is no room in any of that for bowing down and giving up our freedom. Today, as we watch over this great nation resolve to be a part of her protection. Resolve to help your neighbor and to be your brother’s keeper. We are Americans. May God continue to bless us and keep us from the dropping of the second shoe.

I'm Jenni Vinson Trejo. Waiting For the Second Shoe to Drop is My Opinion. Thank you for listening.

These lazy scumbags should have put all the money that has been given them into mfg. of goods and others services.
They could have been one of the richest small country's in the world.
How many country's have been given a chance to provide for themselves as these stupid Arabs ?

Welcome to FR jenniV.

I'm not sure about your definition of a terrorist though.
Our men and women fighting in Iraq are fighting for a political cause but they are not terrorists.
Terrorists seek to instill unreasoning fear among the general populace, they may BE political but they may also,
in this instance be religious. It is hard to pin Islam down
and I think Islamic Fascists covers them pretty well.

Again welcome.
Tet68.

Our nation is in a struggle the likes of which we never have envisioned, a struggle for the very survival of all we hold dear, our past and our childrens destiny are in our hands, Islamic fascism is the willing tool of the communist
hegemonists, each thinking that in the end, only THEY will be left standing as dominant ideology of the entire world.
We are just the start.
